Educator Outreach at CHIME

Are you a university student with a class assignment to observe or participate in a classroom? Are you a school looking to visit our campuses to learn more about our practices?

CHIME has two educational programs: 1) an Early Education program located at CSUN serving infants, toddlers, and preschool children, and 2) a TK-8th grade charter school program located in Woodland Hills. We serve a diverse population of young people from a variety of communities, and every classroom has a mixture of students of different ability levels and talents.

Placements at all programs are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. You will typically receive an initial response within 3 days of your request and will be given an appointment for your observation or field experience within 1-2 weeks of your request. Same-day requests are not considered. Same-week appointments cannot be guaranteed.

Early Education & CHIME LAB School Educator Outreach Opportunities

Students request placements at CHIME for several different types of assignments. If your assignment involves direct interaction with children (not just observing), you will need to bring proof of a current negative TB test on the first day of your assignment

Students requesting a placement involving direct interaction with students that exceed 10 hours involve LiveScan fingerprinting, if you have not completed this through CSUN’s credential office when enrolling in your current program. This process may take up to 10 days.
